GO GREEN INITIATIVE
with RJ Dhvanit

Introduction
The target was to plant 600 saplings at SOGI campus by Radio Jockey(RJ) Dhvanit from
Radio Mirchi,was planned under Tree Idiots Campaign.All the students who had
participated in the event took an oath about growing atleast one tree near their house.
Starting of Session
At Silver Oak Group Of Institutes RJ Dhvanit from Radio Mirchi graced us with presence on
24th August. RJ Dhvanit was honoured with memento by Dr.Pina Bhatt(Principal ASOIT). Dr.
Shital Shah(Dean) and Prof.Satvik Khara(HOD Computer Dept.) honoured him with
bouquet.Driven by strong belief in “GO GREEN INITIATIVE” .The campus was brimming with
enthusiastic students and faculty members along with RJ Dhvanit.
Current Scenario in Ahmedabad
After that RJ Dhvanit discussed about current scenario of population and said that
“People have stopped being serious about nature . The green cover in Ahmedabad is less
than 5% and that’s aa huge problem.After 10 years the quality of air will become very low
due to which people will suffer many health problems.”
Taking an Oath
RJ Dhvanit said that Construction of trees always takes more time than Destruction.And
due to that all the students and faculty members had taken an oath to plant atleast one
saplings in the nearby area.He had captured a live video streaming from his social media
account and captured the oath socially.
Plantation
After that RJ Dhvanit along with Dr.Pina Bhatt(Principal ASOIT), Dr. Shital Shah(Dean) and
Prof.Satvik Khara(HOD Computer Dept.) contributed by planting sapling in garden area of
college campus.All the students had also planted the saplings with RJ Dhvanit.
Conclusion
The GO GREEN INITIATIVE was ended successfully.RJ Dhvanit along with all the
students,faculty members,Principal,Dean had enjoyed planting the saplings in the college
campus.The main idea behind the event was to aware all the students about current
scenario on decrease in the quantity of trees.So,they take a stand to grow more and more
trees in their respective areas.
