PC BUILDING WORKSHOP
By Chirayu Desai and Abhishek Zala
23rd June 2018
Time : 11.00 AM – 01:00 PM
Venue : Newton Hall(D – Block)
Participants – 60 students

Introduction
The host gave the practical knowledge about the hardware part of PC.They disassembled
and assembled the PC,and shown a live practical on it to the students. The IEEE students
actively attended the PC Building Workshop.
Starting of Session
The whole session was conducted by CHIRAYU DESAI and ABHISHEK ZALA ,members IEEE
SOCET SB.The event was started with the powerpoint representation of whole PC building
which includes information about each components, disassembling and assembling
techniques etc.And After the powerpoint representation ,there was a live practical on
PC,using the camera, was shown on the projector,so that every components visible clearly.
Materials used
The materials used for disassembling and assembling were PC, screwdriver, thermal paste
etc. Also webcam and projector for performing live telecast on projector.
Components of PC
The components inside the cabinet which are disassembled and assembled are RAM,
Graphic Card, Fan, CPU chip, different connections etc.

Disassembling of components
After completion of powerpoint representation, they started disassembling the PC with
screwdriver. They started disassembling, by explaining that the term CPU we used is not
correct as its a cabinet and CPU is a small component which present inside it.They opened
up the cabinet and showed the different types of components inside the cabinet. One by
one hosts removed all the components from the cabinet and explained uses of all.

Assembling of components
After the components were disassembled, a small break was held in which participants can
have a close look at the components and can share queries and doubts to the hosts. After
the break, components were assembled. The host also explained that its very easy task but
precautions must be taken,so that there is no lose.Because if one component of the
motherboard gets destroyed the whole motherboard is useless. For example the host
compared this with the lego as all this components fits exactly.

Conclusion
The workshop was ended successfully. The participants enjoyed attending the workshop as
they gained a fruitful knowledge from PC Building. The main idea behind this workshop was
that the students must have a basic knowledge of different components and its uses and
how they are connected inside the PC.
