Google I/O Extended 2022

 

Introduction

Google Developer Groups Cloud Ahmedabad presented us with a fantastic opportunity to learn about technology. "Google IO Extended" was a day-long event where we learned about changes to Google's products from our Google Experts and community enthusiasts. We explored more along with entertaining activities to interact with us while learning about the most recent technologies on Firebase, Web, ML, and Google Cloud.

 

About the speaker

We had Vrijraj Singh, a Tech Lead & Full Stack Developer by profession and a community champion by passion. He is an organiser for Google Developer Groups Jalandhar and a Google Developers Expert for Firebase and Web Technologies. For explaining about Web3 in Google cloud we had Harsh Shah ,a self-taught developer. He is currently working as CTO at Pedals Up Blockchain Studio. For extending capabilities of our Web App using Firebase & Google Cloud we had Kartik Derasari,a passionate developer who loves to explore web technologies and leverage them to build tools for the community. He works in the Application Development team at Media Agility and contributes to GDG Cloud Ahmedabad as an Organiser.

Vrijraj Singh started the workshop and went through the core web vitals. He talked about the possibilities for mobile developers. 53 percent of users will leave a website if it takes longer than three seconds to load, he said. He demonstrated many techniques, such as employing high-quality graphics to make the site load quicker and framework accessible across all browsers. He also discussed website testing, AMP sites with accelerated mobile pages, and search engine visibility. He offered suggestions for how to make sure users have a positive web experience. The discussion was then resumed by Harsh Shah by going over Web3 in Google Clouds. He mentioned two things: first, that Web3 is a blockchain and second, that Blockchain is a cryptocurrency. He spoke on the Web3 ecosystem, DAOs, the Metaverse, cryptocurrency, NFT, DeFi, and the function that Google Cloud plays in the Web3 space. The session came to a conclusion with the final speaker, Kartik Derasari, who discussed how to expand the functionality of our web app using Firebase and Google Cloud. He described Cloud Function, Cloud Storage, Cloud Firebase, and Cloud Firebase Hosting. He further gave a brief idea about sample full stack applications.

 

Conclusion

The presenters and attendees both contributed with equal enthusiasm to the session's success. There was a Question and Answer session at the conclusion, and all queries were addressed. Refreshments were served at the end of the session, and each attendee received a Swag of IO/Extended from the Google Developers Group.
