Introduction:
Silver Oak University in collaboration with IEEE Gujarat Section and IEEE GS Computer Society Chapter brought a very engaging and emerging topic to the disposal of students. “Samvaad’22 session1 – Awareness on Cyber Security, Data Privacy & Cyber Law” was brought to the students with a platform to interact with an on-field cyber expert Mr. Manan Thakker who plunged with the participants into the sea of Cyber Awareness.
About the Speaker:
To enlighten the students in the perfect manner possible, Mr. Manan Thakker was invited to the Student Branch. Mr. Manan Thakker is a Founder and Techno-legal cyber expert of CLS, which is a techno-legal consulting firm that deals with more than 400 corporate in IT, BPO/KPO, ISP, E-commerce, E-banking, E-governance, Emerging Technologies and Cloud Sectors since 2003.

“Awareness on Cyber Security, Data Privacy & Cyber Law” became the very first in the series of “Samvaad” in Silver Oak University IEEE Student Branch. The session started with a warm welcome to the speaker, Mr. Manan Thakker with a bouquet of gratitude for sparing his time and knowledge with the students as well as the very eager professors of Silver Oak University. The speaker started with a disclaimer and an introduction of CLS a consulting firm in cyber
law advisory. Mr. Manan Thakker himself being an IEEE member and Cyber Law consultant impressed everyone with his presence and knowledge regarding Awareness of Cyber Security with his orientation. He started the lecture by briefing the participants on recent cyber cases as well as the Legal Provision of Indian Cyber Law. The participants were
introduced to cases regarding leakage of the online meeting, and recent cases in WFH (work from home), which included data theft, theft of sensitive personal data, and identity theft. All those sensitive cases were delivered by the speaker in a lighthearted way making it way more interactive for participants and a warning, as well as mentioning necessary corporate ethics. He also took an initiative to inform participants about Cyber Crimes and Imprisonment with its legal sections. Mr. Thakker introduced a method of prevention for Cyber Space, Digital Depression, and Cyber Stress. He showed a method of sound and ‘mantra’ called ‘Maha Mantra Meditations’ to detox or relax, those who are depressed or stressed in this ‘Kali Yug’.
His scientific take on spirituality by using Vedic Science in Cyber Space felt like a fresh breath of air than normal. The session ended with an interactive questionnaire where Mr.Thakker acknowledged curious participants’ queries.
Conclusion:
The speaker, Mr. Manan Thakker shared a great deal of information as well as experience with the participants to aware them of the threats and ways of prevention. The intrigued participants asked all the right questions and received answers with equal vigor from the speaker. Silver Oak University IEEE Student Branch presented gratitude to the speaker for his presence and gave their oath to come back soon with more such events.
