Introduction
Department of Computer Science and Engineering-Cyber Security, Silver Oak University and Silver Oak University IEEE Student Branch in association with TechDefense Lab and Silver Oak University CyberSec Club had come up with a knowledgeable and sprightly session on “Cyber Law in India – Needs and Importance”. The session took students through a detailed journey of Cyber crimes and laws which were related to it.

The event began at 3:30 in the afternoon, welcoming our esteemed speaker Mr. Kashyap Joshi sir to the live streaming session of “Cyber law in India – Needs and Importance”. The speaker took the attendees through a zestful and informative session were he covered areas like, Need of Cyber Law, Cyber Crimes, Introduction of Cyber Law, Importance of Cyber Law in Today’s Era, POCSO(Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act). He provided an in-depth understanding of POCSO, explaining its characteristics, IT Act-2000 and IT Act Amendment-2008. The speaker also highlighted how India has handled the Cyber Law in the past and also mentioned the actions that are being taken into consideration for today.
