Introduction:

"Introduction to Serverless on AWS" was a remarkable event meticulously organised by Silver Oak University IEEE Student Branch in collaboration with AWS Cloud Clubs at Silver Oak University and Department of Computer Engineering, SOCET. This event aimed to unravel the transformative potential of serverless within the AWS ecosystem. It served as a focused platform to delve into the intricacies of serverless computing, offering insights specifically tailored within AWS.

The atmosphere of the event buzzed with vibrant energy and boundless excitement as participants geared up to delve into the serverless domain and bask in the electrifying presence of esteemed experts.

Mr. Ankkit Sheth set the tone for the event by inaugurating the first session with an insightful exploration of the topic "Evolving to Serverless." A noteworthy highlight was Mr. Sheth's journey, having immersed himself in serverless technologies for the past five years and being an integral part of the AWS community for the last decade.

Mr. Ankkit Sheth smoothly explained serverless computing basics, highlighted Operational Responsibility and event-driven Architecture's importance, and compared traditional EC2 instances with serverless Lambda functions. The session's simplicity ensured attendees comprehensively grasped serverless concepts. He provided valuable insights on implementing serverless solutions, offering a practical roadmap for effective use.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Sheth extended an invitation to the attendees to actively participate in the AWS Community Day, fostering a spirit of collaboration and shared learning. As the inaugural session concluded, Dr. Satvik Khara bestowed a memento along with a Letter of Appreciation to Mr. Ankkit Sheth, for his commitment and contributions.

The second session unfolded under the guidance of Ms. Omshree Butani. She initiated the session by addressing fundamental queries surrounding server mysteries. In a comprehensive exploration of the AWS Serverless Platform, Ms. Butani covered key components such as AWS Lambda, S3, Amazon API Gateway, Amazon CloudWatch, and AWS EventBridge.

Transitioning into serverless architecture patterns, Ms. Butani provided insights into applications across microservices, mobile backend, web applications, and real-time analytics engines. Emphasizing practicality, she shared valuable insights on initiating the AWS journey, focusing on three essential aspects: AWS Projects, AWS Certification, and active involvement in the AWS Community, where she has been an active contributor for the past two years.

The session concluded with a dynamic Q&A session, allowing attendees to engage with the expert speaker and seek clarification on various aspects of AWS Serverless. Following the session, Prof. Mayuresh Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering, SOCET; Chairperson, Student Activity & Membership Development, IEEE SPS GC; Advisor, IEEE SOU WIE SB AG, IEEE SOU SPS SBC, and IEEE SOU CS SBC honored Ms. Omshree Butani Ma'am with a commemorative token and a Letter of Appreciation, expressing heartfelt appreciation for her enlightening contribution.
