Introduction
Young software engineer Mr. Daxeel Soni with the passion of startup product building
using tech skills. He and his team built chatbot solutions for the startups and brands. He is a
co-lead of Facebook Developers Circle, Ahmedabad and even received an award . A technology
educator and speaker invited to various institutes and events such as IIM, Nirma, Google
Developers Group, Facebook events etc. He is also the founder of Blockshell, which is an open
source software.
A Blockchain is a singly Linked List of block, with each block containing a number of
transactions. It provides a decentralised, immutable data store that can be used across a network
of users, create assets and act as a shared black book that records all transactions.
Starting of Session
The session was started by MUSKAAN CHOWDHURY and HARSH THAKKAR by giving a short
description about IEEE and IEEE SOCET SB branch. The event was forwarded by PAKSHAL SHAH
and CHIRAYU DESAI by giving a brief introduction about Prof. Satvik Khara(H.OD. CE) and Mr.
Daxeel Soni.
Introduction of Session by Mr. Daxeel Soni
Mr. Daxeel Soni started the session by talking about his own college life at Silver Oak College. He
gave introduction regarding the basic of the title of expert session that is “BLOCKCHAIN ”. He
explained the significance of blockchain. He also informed that American Universities quotes 101
of blockchain to explain the basics.
What is blockchain?
Mr. Daxeel Soni started the session with a small interactive Q&A with the students about the
blockchain. He broke down the concept of blockchain to basic data structure to make clear the
concept.
After this the various features provided by the technology of blockchain was explained such as
security, privacy, transaction ledger, etc. This was followed by the 4 pillars of blockchain namely
TRUST, PRIVACY, SHARED LEDGER, SMART CONTRACT. Due to this the various advantages of
blockchain over regular pen-paper record was highlighted.
Security of blockchain is given by SHA 256 encryption which is the most secure encryption till
date, this generates privacy for individual user which in turn leads to the trust in the blockchain
technology.
Conduction of session
The session was a highly informative as well as interactive conducted by Mr. daxeel Soni with the
help of a presentation. With each topic properly explained with a real life example made it very
easy for students to understand. After which doubts were immediately cleared by a short
interaction between students and Mr. Daxeel soni.
Further in the session a deeper look was given about the working of blockchain with the
explanation about the data transfer, hash,Merkle tree and genesis block.
Also another topic clearly explained was data mining and miners, how they worked, what is the
advantages of having miners to the overall community.
Cryptocurrency was also discussed in detail. Brief summary of various cryptocurrency in
circulation were talked about such as BITCOIN, ETHEREUM, ETHER, etc.
Finally at last Mr. Daxeel Soni showed practically the working of blockchain by creating his own
genesis block and explaining what he was doing at the time. He showed us how to create a
blockchain successfully. This was followed by a highly interactive doubt session that cleared the
remaining doubts.
Conclusion
The session ended successfully.The participants enjoyed attending the session as they gained a
fruitful knowledge from about blockchain, blockshell, cryptocurrency and their applications. The
main idea behind this session was that the students must have a basic knowledge of one of the
latest trend in computer field i.e. blockchain.
