15 DAYS INTERNSHIP PROGRAM ON “ANDROID APP DEVELOPMENT WITH JAVA”

Department of Computer Engineering at Silver Oak College of Engineering & Technology, in collaboration with Silver Oak University IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter, successfully conducted a 15-days internship on "Android App Development with Java." The initiative, organized under the Centre for Continuing Education (CCE), aimed to equip students with practical skills in Android app development.

The commencement ceremony signalled the initiation of the program, resonating with a palpable sense of anticipation and eagerness to learn that permeated all the participants. Patel, Advisor, Silver Oak University and Ex-Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University,Gujarat Technological University and Parul University; Dr. Satvik Khara, Dean, Diploma Engineering, SOU; Head, Department of Computer Engineering, SOCET; IEEE Senior Member; Chairperson, SIGHT, IEEE Gujarat Section; Secretary, Computer Society, IEEE Gujarat Section as well as Founding Member, Silver Oak University IEEE StudentBranch and Dr. Sathish D., Joint Director of CCE.

Dr. M. N. Patel's motivational address urged students to embrace emerging technologies for both personal development and the advancement of the university while Dr. Satvik Khara provided guidance, emphasizing the collaborative nature of developing useful applications within groups.

The initiation of the sessions by Prof. Ami Charadava and Prof. Paras Narkhede marked the beginning of an immersive learning experience, with a focus on pivotal subjects such as the Introduction to Android during the expansive 15-day internship. This initiation served as a gateway, propelling the participants into the dynamic realm of app development, where they would navigate the intricacies and innovations of this burgeoning field.

The curriculum encompassed foundational aspects such as mastering the fundamentals of JAVA, where Prof. Narkhede focused on honing the skills required for setting up a conducive environment for Android development. Navigating the intricacies of the Android Studio Interface, Prof. Charadava comprehended the nuances of Android Layout, delving into the intricacies of Activity and Intent, and gaining a comprehensive understanding of version control systems through an Introduction to Git and GitHub.

In the concluding phase of the internship, participants engaged in theoretical discussions and hands-on practice with Firebase, Firebase Authentication, and Project development. The experts' exceptional mentorship, hands-on approach, and profound knowledge significantly enriched the learning experience.

The closing ceremony featured esteemed guests, including Prof. Jaimin Dave, Vice Principal, SOCET; Dr. Satvik Khara; Dr. Sathish D.; Prof. Digant Parmar, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering, SOCET; Counselor, IEEE SOU SB; Prof. Mayuresh Kulkarni, Assistant Professor, Computer Engineering, SOCET; Chair, Student Activity and Membership Development, IEEE SPS GC; Advisor, IEEE SOU WIE SB AG, IEEE SOU SPS SBC, IEEE SOU CS SBC, and SIGHT Project Coordinator and Asst.
