FULL STACK INNOVATIONS

Introduction:

Silver Oak University IEEE Student Branch and Silver Oak University IEEE Computer Society Student Branch Chapter hosted the "Full Stack Innovations" workshop, in collaboration with esteemed partners including Google Developer Student Clubs, Silver Oak University and the concerted efforts of Node Ahmedabad Community. This noteworthy occasion graciously sponsored by Elyt Incorporated, a Global Neobank specializing in services for International, Students and Expats, was meticulously designed to immerse participants in practical learning experiences encompassing Node, React, and Backend technologies. Its primary objective was to empower attendees with hands-on expertise, thereby elevating their proficiency in the realm of full-stack development.

1. Mr. Nisharg Shah - Founder & Organizer of Node Ahmedabad, Software Development Consultant at AJIO, Technical Lead at OpenXcell
2. Mr. Swapnil Soni - Senior Software Developer at Hyathi Technologies

Day - 1

The event commenced with a cordial welcome extended to the distinguished speakers. Prof. Sanket Shah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at SOCET and Advisor to GDSC SOU, presented saplings as tokens of admiration to Mr. Nisharg Shah and Mr. Swapnil Soni. Mr. Nisharg Shah started the session with a thorough understanding of the audience and a comprehensive introduction of himself. With a practical learning approach in mind, he delved into the Fundamentals of JavaScript, emphasizing hands-on experience over theoretical knowledge.

During the session, he shared his preference for WebStorm over VS Code and covered various aspects, including types of Consoles and the usage of NVM to switch React versions. Demonstrating a Counter implementation in Vanilla JS, Mr. Shah elaborated on the Document Object Model (DOM), highlighting its importance, and presenting its use cases. Participants were actively engaged in an increment/decrement program, and he guided them through the creation of a Reset Button. In his closing words for the day, Mr. Nisharg Shah compassionately acknowledged the challenges inherent in learning JavaScript but instilled a sense of hope, emphasizing that with time and dedicated practice, mastering the language becomes more manageable.

The session concluded on an interactive note, with a vibrant Q/A session fostering a collaborative and insightful learning environment. Participants left not only with new knowledge but also with a shared commitment to ongoing exploration and improvement in the ever-evolving landscape of web development.

Day - 2

The second day of the Full Stack Innovations workshop commenced with an insightful session led by Mr. Nisharg Shah. The workshop kicked off with a comprehensive recap of the previous day's discussions, ensuring all participants were on the same page. He delved into the practical aspects of software development, guiding participants through the creation of a Counter in basic react with increment and decrement buttons using JavaScript and DOM manipulation.

Participants were introduced to React, a popular JavaScript framework, and engaged in creating a counter application using React. The workshop further delved into package management tools such as npm, yarn, and pnpm, emphasizing the importance of practical impact and demonstrating both parallel and serial installations.

The day concluded with participants gaining hands-on experience in utilizing local hosts for React through Vite and exploring key React packages like React and ReactDOM, while addressing queries and errors from the engaged audience.

Day - 3

On the final day, the expert speakers, accompanied by Node community members, kicked off the day with a warm welcome. Mr. Swapnil Soni took the stage, focusing on Backend development. He covered HTTP concepts, server-client relationships, and explained boilerplate code. Attendees gained a deep understanding of JSON files, followed by practical demonstrations. Mr. Soni elaborated on API and CRUD operations, highlighting their significance in backend development. His insightful session provided participants with valuable practical knowledge, fostering collaborative learning within the Node community.

After the lunch break, Yash Simejiya, Student Ambassador of Syncloop at Silver Oak University, delivered a brief talk on Syncloop. Following this, a quiz was conducted, and the top three winners were rewarded with goodies from Syncloop. After this, the Executive Members of IEEE SOU SB gracefully took the stage, actively raising awareness and fostering engagement with attendees, delicately underlining the significance of joining the club.

Following the session, Dr. Satvik Khara presented mementos as a token of gratitude to Mr. Nisharg Shah & Mr. Swapnil Soni for their invaluable contributions. The day concluded with Swapnil Soni's practical demonstration, creating a Chatbot like ChatGPT and an API practical with Gen A.I. — providing a hands-on experience to a day filled with learning and interaction. To add to the jubilation, every participant was delighted to receive exclusive GDSC SOU swags, making the experience truly unforgettable!

In conclusion, Full Stack Innovations was more than just a workshop—it was a transformative journey for the participants. Immersed in the realms of Node, React, and Backend technologies, attendees not only absorbed theoretical knowledge but also cultivated handson expertise, creating a vibrant community of collaborative learners. The resounding positive feedback was a testament to the workshop's success in empowering individuals with practical skills, inspiring the participants to confidently navigate the evolving landscape of full-stack development.
